In 2011, I was living in Berlin, Germany with my husband and son. I began spending my days exploring the flea-markets, auction houses and little shops all over the city. I became fascinated with Europe's rich cultural heritage and I wanted to share the amazing treasures I came across with the world. I began to learn as much as I could and sold online under the name 'Pippa Tree' and found instant success.
I focused on making contacts across Europe, including Germany, Austria, France and Spain. Having basic skills in those three languages helped.
The business travelled with me when we moved to the Limburg region of The Netherlands, near the French and Belgium borders, and then again when we settled here near the beautiful, historical city of Chester, England.
Since those early days the business has expanded and taken on a life of its own. in 2016, it was renamed 'Elder and Bloom.' My husband helps me with many aspects of the business and our son also gives valuable input.
I truly love enhancing my customer's lives with these historic treasures. I also love studying and writing articles about antiques and sharing this fascinating knowledge. You'll find over a hundred articles on this website (see 'Education') with more being added all the time.
There is always something new to learn and each day brings joy and surprise and an opportunity to connect. Thank you for sharing this journey.
With warmest wishes,
